Horses like a hot shower too! Compact Duoetto water heater provides creature comforts for Gladiator Horse Floats

Having hot water is essential for horse floats, so that these beautiful animals can be hosed down without applying freezing and uncomfortable water, especially in winter.

For horse trainers and owners, horse floats are essential for the comfortable, safe and secure transportation of their precious animals, as they attend shows or travel the country.

Leading customised horse float engineering company, Gladiator Horse Floats, says that built-in hot water is something they include in all their floats, to respond to strong customer demand.

Gladiator Horse Floats has been installing Duoetto water heaters from Aus J Hot Water Solutions for over a decade, and says they are ideal for the task due to their compact size and outstanding reliability.

“We wouldn’t look anywhere else for 240v water heaters. Aus J’s Duoetto is clean, compact, easy to install and does the job we need without any hassle,” says Yvonne of Gladiator Horse Floats.

“The Duoetto has a couple of uses in our floats. Some are campers and floats combined, and the water heater is used for hot water at the sink. And of course, the major use is where we attach a hose for washing down the horses,” she said.

“You just want to wash the parts where the horse sweats, otherwise you’d need a lot of water! But in winter and on cooler days, the animals aren’t fond of freezing cold water being used – and most humans would feel the same way! So having a Duoetto with selectable temperatures is a major advantage and helps keep the horses comfortable, clean and happy.”

Aus J’s latest Duoetto MK2 dual 12v/ 240v water heater offers selectable temperatures between 30-75ºC on 240v and up to 70°C on 12v, and in addition to horse floats, is ideally suited to caravans, campervans, trailers, RVs, boats, food trucks and applications requiring comfortable hot water on the go.

“The service from Jay [Managing Director, Aus J] has always been fantastic. He’s really on the ball and provides efficient delivery times, which is a big help to a fast-paced operation like ours,” said Yvonne.

Duoetto MK2

The Duoetto MK2 has a number of upgrades on the previous version, designed to give the new water heater even greater longevity than the original, which has become OEM equipment on major campers in Australia and in export markets including South Africa and the US because of its functionality and reliability in service over a wide range of use and climatic conditions. Upgrades include:

The Duoetto MK2, which is especially suited to caravans, equestrian transport, campervans, yachts, motorhomes and a huge range of recreational vehicles and work vehicles, including those used by mining and oil and gas explorers and workers on remote sites.

“Readily available hot water is a real luxury when you’re on the road for a long time, or off it in 4wds, or out on the water. It doesn’t matter if you are a family group or a worksite team, hot water is a blessing,” said Mr King.

The Duoetto MK2 comes with internationally recognised Australian WaterMark accreditation, which means that it passed tests and requirements regarding its suitability for supplying water for human consumption. These tests encompass taste, smell, toxins and corrosive effects on plumbing and pipework.

Drawing a miniscule 4.2 amps at 240V (1000w) and 25 amps at 12v (300w), the 409 x 262 x 267mm Duoetto MK2 retains the strengths of its predecessor, including:
